Reality settles in as you look around. Frosting on the walls and floor. Candy stuck above the door! Everything is sticky sweet. Soon you will be what they eat!
Can you escape the children's gingerbread house before they get to you? You only have 70 minutes and dinner is almost done!
What excited these children the most was not the presents under their tree, or the songs trickling in over the radio. The candy they fastened in sugary globs to their gingerbread structure made them smile, but it was not what dominated their thoughts. What excited them the most was the prospect of eating their carefully constructed gingerbread people, who they affectionately named The Gingerbreads! All they had to do was get through dinner, their mother said. Then they could feast on dessert!
The year is 1967. The Quinn family has been busy decorating and getting ready for Christmas, and the children, Miles, Carol, and Harper have eagerly awaited the completion of their gingerbread house. Taking after their father, this year they decided to fill it with trap doors, secret rooms, and numerous other gingerbread mysteries. Not only that, but their dad was finally able to come home after a several week-long investigations. Their home now felt like Christmas.

The children, Harper, Milo, and Carol have constructed a towering gingerbread house complete with the Gingerbreads (their affectionately named gingerbread cookies).
